Provisional Licence

Before starting your driving lessons you will need to apply for a provisional driving licence. You can do this by collecting an application form from the post office or by going onto the Gov UK website (www.gov.uk).

You can apply for your provisional driving licence upto 3 months prior to your 17th Birthday however you will not be able to take lessons or your theory test until you are actually 17 years old.

Your first driving lesson

On your first driving lesson, we will need to see your provisional driving licence card so please bring this with you. We will park outside your desired collection point and we will go from there.

Theory Test

Once you have your provisional licence you can then apply for your theory test. You can choose to do this straight away before starting lessons or you can start driving lessons. The theory test consists of a number of multiple choice questions along with a hazard perception section. You will need to pass both sections to pass your theory test.

Practical Driving Test

Now that you have passed your theory test, its time to start thinking about your practical driving test. We will be able to advise you of your progress throughout your lessons and let you know when you are ready for this. The practical driving test can be booked via the main Gov UK website, as you did for your theory test. Please do not go ahead and book your test without speaking to us first as we will need to check the availability of the car on that day.

We will prepare you for your practical driving test beforehand, advising you of what happens, what to expect and run through any last minute questions you may have.
